As Chief Marketing Officer of Property Finder, Sevgi Gur manages a team across five markets. With over fifteen years of expertise, she has held global and regional positions in FMCGs and fintech, giving her exposure to markets in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Latin America.

Gur manages a team that spans twelve different nationalities and admits that her biggest challenge as a leader has been to bring people together around a common goal. With experience, she has come to believe that a true leader must create a culture of diversity and equity. “A good leader knows how to bring people together by creating a common vision for the team while respecting their differences. By enabling such an environment, a good leader can infuse passion into the workplace while driving energy, and connection across a team,” she says.

The INSEAD alumnus believes that, while women have made huge strides in boardrooms, “there are still so many unconscious biases in the work environment” that make female leaders emotionally and physically complex. “As a woman in the real estate sector, it has not been easy to unlock that voice and make sure it goes beyond the boardrooms. There are still so many unconscious biases in the work environment which makes female leaders’ lives complex emotionally and physically,” she says. For this reason, the ‘SheforShe’ mentor program was launched to support female leaders in the field.

“My future aspiration is to hone my skills as a business leader and accelerate my CMO to CEO journey,” says Gur. She aims to do this by fostering an environment of growth for new talent, paving the way for innovative professionals, and mentoring others.
