Founder and CEO of female-focused edtech platform Carerha, Jessy Radwan is on a mission to empower women and bridge the gender gap. Driven by her challenges as a young mother, Radwan founded Carerha to help address the skills gap and help women access flexible employment opportunities.
“The most significant challenge I faced in my career was addressing the systemic barriers that prevent women from accessing flexible and meaningful employment opportunities. Early in my career, I experienced the common dilemma many mothers face–the choice between career advancement and family responsibilities. This personal struggle highlighted the lack of flexible job opportunities for women, especially those returning to the workforce after a career break,” she says.
To address this, she started a Facebook group that quickly grew into a community of over 50,000 women that helped mothers and women returning to work find flexible job opportunities, upskill, and access resources. Building on the success of her Facebook group, she founded Carerha.
Today, Carerha has a thriving community of over 60,000 women engaged in career development and entrepreneurship and more than 100 employers that provide women with flexible and remote job opportunities. Through Carerha, she has launched more than 90 masterclasses and 30 courses to upskill women in various fields, created more than 30 female-focused programs in partnership with leading multinationals, and delivered more than 5,000 career coaching sessions. Radwan also led the Carerha Summit in 2022 and 2023, which attracted over 8,000 attendees, 400 guest speakers, and 70 workshops, and launched the Carerha Job Fair. She has also launched the MOMentum podcast, which features successful mothers in leadership positions, and her flagship initiative, Tech Her Up–a program that helps women upskill in the technology sector.
She aims to expand Carerha into Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and Ghana, integrate AI and VR into Carerha’s programs, and provide comprehensive career support for women.
